DOMUS
Elegant wall-mounted warmth that blends into modern interiors and keeps every room comfortably inviting
PREMIUM FAR-INFRARED TECHNOLOGY
At the heart of every Domus panel is a premium carbon heating element, designed to spread far-infrared warmth evenly across the panel’s surface.
Unlike basic NiCr heating cables, the carbon element provides broader, more consistent heat distribution with fewer concentrated hot spots. It is designed for dependable performance, efficient everyday heating and long-term reliability.
Many infrared heaters may look similar from the outside, but their internal heating technology can significantly affect heat distribution, comfort and long-term performance.
The Quality Begins Inside our IR Heater
At the heart of every Domus panel is a premium carbon heating element designed to distribute warmth evenly across the panel’s surface.
Broad, Even Heat Distribution
Basic cable-based heaters use narrow resistive wires arranged inside the unit. Heat is generated mainly along these individual cable paths, potentially creating more concentrated heating zones.
The Domus uses a broad carbon heating element that covers a larger surface area. This helps the entire panel warm more consistently and radiate gentle, balanced heat into the room.
How Far-Infrared Warmth Works
Once heated, the panel emits far-infrared energy that is absorbed by people, walls, floors and furniture. These surfaces retain some of the thermal energy and gradually release it back into the room.
Because the system does not depend on a fan, it operates silently and without continuously circulating air and dust.
Why Carbon Technology Matters
A broad carbon heating element supports:
– More consistent surface temperatures
– Fewer concentrated heating zones
– Smooth, steady radiant warmth
– Quiet operation with no moving parts
– A slim, modern panel design
– Reliable performance for everyday heating
The heating element is fully enclosed inside the panel, protected by its rigid outer construction.
Slim Outside. Advanced Inside.
At only 2.5 cm deep, the Domus combines premium internal heating technology with a discreet, frameless design.
The result is an infrared heater engineered to provide broad, comfortable warmth without bulky equipment, visible heating cables, fans or regular maintenance.
The real difference is not simply how the panel looks on the wall – it is the technology working inside it.

WHY CHOOSE DOMUS?
Efficient far-infrared warmth in one slim, modern panel
Efficient Warmth.
Smarter Comfort.
Domus delivers comfortable far-infrared heating in a slim 2.5 cm wall-mounted panel. Choose 580W at 100 × 60 cm or 900W at 120 × 75 cm.
Its broad carbon heating element distributes gentle warmth evenly across the panel, heating people and surrounding surfaces without fans, noise or continuous air circulation.
The 580W and 900W models consume 0.58 kWh and 0.90 kWh per full operating hour. A compatible thermostat can reduce unnecessary running time.
By warming walls and surrounding surfaces, Domus can help reduce cold spots, condensation and damp conditionswhen combined with suitable ventilation and building maintenance.
Slim, Modern and Practical
The Domus 580W by Royal Infrared Heating® is a slim, modern far infrared panel heater designed to provide comfortable and efficient warmth for everyday indoor spaces.
With 580 watts of power and a panel size of 100 x 60 x 2.5 cm, the Domus 580W is suitable for rooms up to 13m², depending on insulation, ceiling height, room layout and installation conditions. Its clean white finish and slim 2.5 cm profile allow it to fit neatly into homes, offices, bedrooms, garden rooms, hallways and other modern interiors.
Natural Far Infrared Warmth
Instead of only heating the air, the Domus panel uses far infrared technology to warm people, walls, floors, furniture and surrounding surfaces directly. This creates a more natural and even feeling of warmth, helping the room stay comfortable without strong air movement or unnecessary dust circulation.
Flexible Installation and Control
The panel can be installed vertically or horizontally on the wall, giving you flexibility when choosing the best position for your space. An installation kit is included, and the heater is supplied with a 2 metre EU plug cable for simple plug-in use.
For improved comfort and energy control, the Domus 580W can also be used with compatible plug-in thermostats, hardwired thermostats or smart control options.
Built for Everyday Comfort
Built with quality materials and advanced heating technology, the Domus 580W is a practical choice for customers who want a clean design, reliable performance and a simple way to heat their space efficiently.
Warmth That Feels More Natural
The Domus 580W uses far infrared heating to create a gentle and comfortable warmth that feels similar to natural sunlight, without producing UV rays.
Instead of blowing hot air around the room, the panel warms people, walls, floors, furniture and surrounding surfaces directly. This creates a softer and more natural feeling of heat, making the room feel comfortable without the heavy or stuffy feeling often caused by traditional heaters.
Direct Heating for Lasting Comfort
Traditional convection heaters mainly heat the air first. Warm air rises quickly, which can lead to uneven temperatures, cold spots and wasted energy.
Far infrared heating works differently. It transfers warmth directly to the surfaces and objects in the room. Once these surfaces absorb the heat, they slowly release it back into the space, helping the room stay warm and comfortable for longer.
This creates a more balanced indoor temperature and helps reduce the need for the heater to work constantly.
Less Air Movement and Less Dryness
Because the Domus panel does not rely on strong air circulation, it creates a calmer and more comfortable indoor environment.
With less air movement, there is also less dust being pushed around the room. This can make infrared heating a practical choice for bedrooms, offices, living areas and other spaces where comfort and clean air movement are important.
Far infrared heating also does not dry the air in the same way as many fan or convection-based heaters, helping the room feel more pleasant during regular use.
Premium Carbon Heating Technology
Inside the Domus panel, Royal Infrared Heating® uses premium carbon heating technology to support even heat distribution and reliable performance.
Many infrared panels may look similar from the outside, but the internal heating material makes a major difference to the quality of warmth, efficiency and long-term durability.
The carbon heating element inside the Domus panel helps spread warmth evenly across the surface of the heater. This allows the panel to provide steady, consistent heat rather than aggressive or uneven warmth.
Quality You Can Feel
The quality of an infrared heater is not only about how it looks on the wall. The most important difference is often inside the panel.
By using far infrared heating with a high-quality carbon heating element, the Domus 580W is designed to provide comfortable warmth, dependable operation and efficient everyday performance.
The result is a clean, modern heating solution that feels natural, works quietly and supports a more comfortable indoor environment.
Efficient Use of Electricity
The Domus 580W is designed to provide comfortable warmth while using electricity efficiently. With a power output of 580 watts, the panel uses 0.58 kWh of electricity for every full hour of operation.
Far infrared heating works by warming people, walls, floors, furniture and surrounding surfaces directly. This helps reduce wasted energy because the warmth is delivered where it is needed, rather than only heating the air first.
Warmth That Stays in the Room
One of the main advantages of far infrared heating is that the warmth is absorbed by the surfaces in the room. Walls, floors and furniture gradually store heat and then release it back into the space.
This creates a steadier and more lasting feeling of warmth. Instead of the heat disappearing quickly through rising warm air, the room benefits from warmth that remains within the surrounding surfaces.
Lower Running Costs in Daily Use
The running cost of the Domus 580W depends on your electricity tariff and how many hours the panel is used each day.
For example:
0.58 kW x 4 hours per day x 30 days = 69.6 kWh per month
To estimate your monthly cost, multiply 69.6 kWh by your electricity unit rate.
If your electricity rate is €0.20 per kWh:
69.6 kWh x €0.20 = €13.92 per month
This example is based on 4 hours of use per day over 30 days. Your actual cost may be higher or lower depending on your electricity tariff, room size, insulation, outside temperature and daily usage.
| Metric | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| kWh per month | 0.58⋅4⋅30 | 69.6 kWh |
| Monthly cost (€) | 69.6⋅0.20 | €13.92 |
| Cost per hour (€) | 0.58⋅0.20 | €0.116 |
Suitable for Larger Spaces in Combination
The Domus 580W is suitable for smaller rooms up to 13m², depending on insulation, ceiling height and layout. For larger spaces, two or more panels can be used together to provide better heat coverage.
Installing panels on different walls can help distribute warmth more evenly across the room. This is especially useful in open-plan areas, larger offices, living spaces, commercial rooms or areas with more than one seating or working zone.
Using multiple panels also allows the heat to be spread more naturally throughout the space, instead of relying on one heating point to warm the whole room.
Designed to Reduce Energy Waste
Traditional heating systems often heat the air first, which can lead to warmth rising to the ceiling or escaping through doors and windows.
Far infrared heating works differently by directing warmth into the room’s surfaces and objects. This helps make better use of the electricity consumed and supports a more efficient heating experience.
When correctly matched to the size and layout of the room, the Domus 580W offers a practical balance between comfort, energy use and running cost.
Warmer Surfaces, Less Condensation
The Domus infrared panel heater helps create a warmer and drier indoor environment by heating walls, floors, furniture and surrounding surfaces directly.
Damp problems often begin when warm air meets cold surfaces, creating condensation on walls, windows or corners of the room. By gently warming these surfaces, far infrared heating can help reduce cold spots and lower the chance of moisture settling.
Supporting a Drier Indoor Space
Unlike traditional convection heaters, which mainly warm the air, infrared heating works by transferring warmth directly into the surfaces of the room.
As walls and objects absorb the heat, they become warmer and less likely to attract condensation. This can be especially helpful in rooms that often feel cold, damp or difficult to keep comfortable, such as bedrooms, offices, garden rooms, bathrooms, utility areas and older properties.
Helping to Reduce Mould Conditions
Mould is more likely to develop in areas where moisture is present for long periods, especially on cold walls or poorly ventilated surfaces.
By helping to keep walls and surfaces warmer, the Domus panel can support a drier environment and reduce the conditions that allow mould to grow. This makes infrared heating a practical choice for customers who want both comfortable warmth and better control of moisture in their space.
A More Comfortable Living Environment
A damp room can feel colder, less comfortable and less pleasant to use. Far infrared heating helps create a more stable feeling of warmth by heating the room’s surfaces rather than only the air.
This can make the space feel more comfortable while also helping to reduce the heavy, damp feeling often found in cold rooms.
Important to Know
Infrared heating can help reduce condensation and damp conditions, but it should be used alongside proper ventilation and good building maintenance.
If a room has water leaks, poor insulation or serious structural damp, those issues should be repaired. The Domus panel can support a warmer and drier environment, but it should not be seen as a replacement for fixing the cause of moisture problems.
Simple Setup.
Flexible Control.
Domus includes a complete wall-mounting kit and 1.9-metre EU power cable, allowing straightforward plug-in installation without complex electrical work.
For manual use without a thermostat, operate Domus using the on/off switch on the rear junction box. For automatic temperature control, schedules or Wi-Fi features, connect a compatible plug-in or hardwired thermostat.
Install the slim panel vertically or horizontally to suit your room, save floor space and direct infrared warmth towards the areas used most.
Premium materials and carbon heating technology provide reliable everyday warmth with no fan, open flame, moving parts or regular maintenance.
Simple Setup for Everyday Use
The Domus 580W is designed to be easy to install and simple to use. Once the panel is securely mounted on the wall, it can be connected directly to a standard power socket using the supplied 1.9 metre power cable.
This makes it a practical heating option for customers who want a straightforward solution without major electrical work.
No Complex Heating System Required
The Domus panel does not require pipes, boilers, radiators or a full central heating system. It works as an independent electric heating panel, making it suitable for single rooms, home offices, bedrooms, garden rooms, rental spaces and commercial areas.
This is especially useful when you want to add heating to a space without changing the existing heating system in the property.
Installation Kit Included
The panel is supplied with an installation kit to help with wall mounting. Its slim and lightweight design makes the installation process simple and clean when fitted correctly.
The panel should always be securely fixed to a suitable wall surface and installed according to the fitting instructions provided.
Ready to Use After Mounting
After the panel has been fitted safely and connected to power, it is ready to use. The clean wall-mounted design keeps the heater neatly positioned and helps save floor space.
This makes the Domus 580W a convenient choice for rooms where you want efficient warmth without bulky heaters, visible radiators or complicated installation work.
Optional Hardwired Finish
For customers who prefer a cleaner and more permanent finish, the Domus panel can also be hardwired by a qualified electrician.
This option is ideal when you want the cable hidden, the panel integrated into the room more neatly, or several panels installed as part of a larger heating setup.
Reliable Thermostat Connection
The Domus panel is designed to work with external thermostat controls, giving you flexibility over how you manage your heating.
Instead of relying on a built-in wireless thermostat inside the heater, the Domus uses a physical connection to a compatible thermostat. This can be done with a plug-in thermostat or through a hardwired mains thermostat.
This setup provides a more stable and dependable way to control the heater, avoiding the common inconvenience of weak wireless connections directly inside the panel.
Smart Heating Control
When connected to a compatible Wi-Fi thermostat, the Domus panel can be controlled from your smartphone. This allows you to adjust the temperature, set heating schedules and manage the panel remotely when you are away from home.
Some smart thermostats also allow you to share access with family members, tenants or colleagues, making it easier to manage heating in homes, offices, rental properties and commercial spaces.
This gives you the benefit of smart heating control while keeping the heater itself simple, reliable and easy to maintain.
Plug-In Thermostat Options
A plug-in thermostat is a simple and convenient option for customers who want easy temperature control without professional installation.
The panel plugs into the thermostat, and the thermostat plugs into the wall socket. Depending on the model, plug-in thermostats can be manual, programmable or Wi-Fi enabled.
This is a practical choice for bedrooms, offices, garden rooms, temporary spaces or any room where a quick and flexible setup is preferred.
Hardwired Thermostat Options
For a neater and more permanent setup, the Domus panel can also be connected to a hardwired mains thermostat by a qualified electrician.
Hardwired thermostats are ideal when you want to control one panel, several panels in the same room, or separate heating zones throughout a property.
Many hardwired thermostat options also include Wi-Fi control, allowing you to combine a clean cable-free finish with modern smart heating features.
Manual Power Switch
The Domus panel also includes a discreet power switch on the back of the heater. This allows the panel to be switched on or off manually if needed.
The manual switch is useful for basic operation, but it does not provide temperature control. For better comfort, efficiency and day-to-day use, we recommend using the panel with a suitable thermostat.
Flexible for Different Heating Setups
The Domus panel can be used with a wide range of compatible thermostat options, including Royal Infrared Heating® thermostats, selected third-party plug-in thermostats and suitable hardwired controls.
In some cases, it may also be possible to integrate the panel with existing mains thermostat systems, depending on the property and wiring setup.
This flexibility makes the Domus suitable for simple home use, smart heating upgrades, larger heating projects and professional installations.
Vertical or Horizontal Installation
The Domus infrared panel heater is designed to be mounted either vertically or horizontally, giving you more freedom when choosing the best position for your room.
This flexibility makes it easier to fit the panel around furniture, windows, doors and available wall space. Whether you want a tall vertical layout or a wider horizontal position, the Domus panel can be installed in the way that best suits your interior.
Clean, Space-Saving Design
The slim wall-mounted design helps keep your room clear and uncluttered. Instead of taking up floor space like portable heaters or radiators, the Domus panel sits neatly against the wall with a clean and modern appearance.
This makes it suitable for homes, offices, bedrooms, garden rooms, hallways, commercial rooms and other spaces where both comfort and appearance matter.
Simple Four-Point Mounting
The Domus panel is supplied with an installation kit for straightforward wall mounting. The fitting process uses four mounting points to hold the panel securely in place when installed on a suitable wall surface.
Once fixed correctly, the panel remains stable, discreet and ready for everyday use. The installation should always be carried out according to the official mounting instructions.
Suitable for Different Room Layouts
Because the Domus panel can be positioned in different ways, it works well in both small and larger spaces. In larger rooms, more than one panel can also be installed on different walls to help spread warmth more evenly across the area.
This is especially useful in open-plan spaces, offices, commercial rooms or interiors where one heating point may not provide balanced coverage across the whole room.

Heating Guide
for Domus
The Domus 580W can heat up to 13m² in well-insulated rooms. For larger spaces, open-plan areas or rooms with weaker insulation, using more than one panel helps spread warmth more evenly and improves comfort.
For larger bathrooms, colder spaces or rooms with weaker insulation, using more than one Domus panel can distribute radiant warmth more evenly and improve comfort.
| Room Size | Well Insulated | Typical Insulation | Poorly Insulated |
|---|---|---|---|
| Up to 7m² | 1 × Domus 580W | 1 × Domus 580W | 1 × Domus 580W |
| 8 – 12m² | 1 × Domus 580W | 2 × Domus 580W | 2 × Domus 580W |
| 13 – 18m² | 2 × Domus 580W | 2 × Domus 580W | 3 × Domus 580W |
| 19 – 24m² | 2 × Domus 580W | 3 × Domus 580W | 4 × Domus 580W |
Choosing the Correct Setup
The appropriate number of Domus panels depends on room insulation, ceiling height, window size and quality, room layout, outside temperature, desired room temperature, panel position and the amount of warmth required. Bathrooms or spaces with large windows, exterior walls, high ceilings or limited insulation may need additional heating capacity to reach a comfortable temperature.
Heating Larger Bathrooms and Spaces
For larger bathrooms, dressing areas or commercial washrooms, multiple Domus panels can be installed in different positions to distribute radiant warmth more evenly across the room. Using more than one panel reduces reliance on a single heating point and helps maintain a consistent surface temperature throughout the space.
Positioning for Better Performance
Install Domus panels so the front surface faces the area where warmth is needed and avoid blocking the panel with large furniture, bathroom units or other objects. Position panels to provide direct radiant coverage of the zones you use most, and keep towels or fabrics from covering the entire heating surface to ensure efficient heat transfer.
Vertical or Horizontal Mounting
Domus panels can be mounted vertically or horizontally to suit the room layout and available wall space. Choose the orientation that best fits around windows, doors and fixtures while ensuring the panel remains accessible for maintenance and thermostat connections.
Simple Four‑Point Mounting
Each Domus panel is supplied with an installation kit and uses four mounting points for a secure fit on a suitable wall surface. Follow the official mounting instructions and use fixings appropriate for your wall type to ensure a stable, long‑lasting installation.
Important to Know
This guide provides an estimate; actual performance depends on the property and installation conditions. Domus panels are splash‑resistant but not waterproof; bathroom installation must comply with local electrical regulations and approved bathroom zones. For larger rooms or properties with poor insulation, contact Royal Infrared Heating® for a personalised recommendation.
Consumption Guide
for Domus
Each Domus 580W panel consumes 0.58 kWh per hour when operating continuously at full power.
When connected to a compatible thermostat, the panel does not normally need to run throughout the entire heating period. Once the selected room temperature is reached, the thermostat switches the panel off and activates it again when additional warmth is required.
Estimated Monthly Cost Example
Based on an electricity rate of €0.20 per kWh:
| Domus Setup | Price / Month (4 hrs/day) | Price / Month (6 hrs/day) | Price / Month (8 hrs/day) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × Domus 580W | €8.70 – €10.44 | €13.05 – €15.66 | €17.40 – €20.88 |
| 2 × Domus 580W | €17.40 – €20.88 | €26.10 – €31.32 | €34.80 – €41.76 |
| 3 × Domus 580W | €26.10 – €31.32 | €39.15 – €46.98 | €52.20 – €62.64 |

Residual Infrared Warmth
Far-infrared heating warms people, walls, floors, tiles, furniture and other bathroom surfaces directly.
Once the room reaches the set temperature, the thermostat switches the panel off. Even after switching off, the panel and the warmed surfaces in the room continue to release gentle residual heat for around 30 minutes. The heat becomes softer during this time, but the room can still feel warm and comfortable.
This is one of the advantages of far infrared heating. Walls, floors, furniture and surrounding surfaces absorb the warmth and slowly release it back into the space, helping maintain comfort while reducing active electricity use.
As a practical estimate, if you want around 8 hours of comfortable heating, the panel may only need to actively run for approximately 5–6 hours. Actual use depends on insulation, room layout, thermostat settings, outside temperature and the month of the year.
During colder winter months, the panel may run for longer. During milder months, it may switch off more often and use less electricity.
Estimated Monthly Cost Example
Based on an electricity rate of €0.20 per kWh:
Important to Know
These figures are estimates based on thermostat-controlled use. Actual consumption may be lower or higher depending on insulation, ceiling height, window quality, room layout, outside temperature, the month of the year and your preferred comfort level.
Using a thermostat helps reduce unnecessary energy use because the Domus panel only runs when heat is needed. Even when the thermostat switches it off, the panel and the room’s warmed surfaces continue releasing softer residual warmth for a period of time, helping the room stay comfortable for longer.
Installation Guide
for Domus
Installing Domus requires four holes to be drilled into a suitable wall. Each unit includes screws, wall plugs, towel-rail fittings and a detailed drilling template. For clear, step-by-step instructions, please follow the Domus Installation Guide.
Control Options
for Domus
Domus infrared panels can be operated manually using the discreet rear on/off switch, providing straightforward and reliable everyday heating.
For automatic temperature control, heating schedules or smart app features, connect the panel to a compatible thermostat. Choose a plug-in model for simple setup, a hardwired thermostat for a cleaner finish, or ask a qualified electrician to install another suitable external thermostat. This flexibility allows Domus to work as either a manual heater or part of a fully controlled heating system.
CHOOSE YOUR
OWN THERMOSTAT
Thermostats are optional with Domus panels. Each panel includes a discreet power switch for simple manual operation. However, if you want automatic temperature control, scheduling, or smart app features, you can connect your panel to a compatible thermostat.

For the dining area, the following products were installed: 1 x Domus 580W panel 1 x Poer 26 WiFi thermostat The Domus 580W panel was mounted next to the window, directly facing the dining table. This placement provided comfortable warmth during meals and helped create a more pleasant dining space. A separate thermostat was fitted for this area, allowing independent control from the living area.
Hall and Stairs
For the hall and stair area, the following products were installed: 1 x Domus 580W panel 1 x Poer 26 WiFi thermostat The panel was installed on the main wall, facing the stairs. This helped provide warmth to both the hallway and the stairwell leading to the upper floor. Like the other panels, it was connected to its own Poer 26 WiFi thermostat for precise temperature control.
Installation
The installation was carried out by a local professional electrician recommended by the Royal Infrared Heating® team. The electrician ensured each panel was positioned correctly and wired neatly to its dedicated thermostat for safe, convenient and efficient use.
Outcome
The new infrared heating system transformed the townhouse into a much warmer and more comfortable permanent home. Each Domus panel provides targeted, consistent warmth in its own area, while the Poer 26 WiFi thermostats give the homeowners simple control over temperature and heating schedules. The result is a cleaner, more efficient and more cost-effective heating setup that solved the homeowners’ heating challenges and made the property better suited for year-round living.

Healthier Infrared Heating for a Townhouse in Spain
The owners of a townhouse in Spain were struggling to heat their large living area efficiently. The property had poor insulation and older windows, which allowed cold air to enter and made the room difficult to keep warm. Before switching to infrared heating, the homeowners relied mainly on air conditioning, with a portable gas heater used on colder days. However, the air conditioning created dry air, which contributed to health issues and made the indoor environment uncomfortable. They contacted Royal Infrared Heating® to find a healthier and more efficient heating solution for the living area and bedroom.
Property Details
Property type: Townhouse with large living area Location: Spain Areas heated: Living area 39m², bedroom 13m² Solution: Domus far infrared panel heaters with Avis S smart plug-in thermostats
The Heating Solution
Royal Infrared Heating® recommended a flexible heating setup using Domus far infrared panel heaters and Avis S smart plug-in thermostats. The system was designed to provide steady, comfortable warmth while reducing reliance on air conditioning and avoiding the dry air associated with AC heating.
Living Area
For the living area of approximately 39m², the following products were installed: 1 x Domus 900W panel 1 x Domus 580W panel 2 x Avis S smart plug-in thermostats The Domus 900W panel was mounted near the sofa to act as the main heater during the winter months. The Domus 580W panel was installed approximately 30cm above the floor on an exterior wall near the window. This helped reduce the effect of cold draughts and warm the wall itself, improving comfort in the room. Each panel was connected to its own Avis S smart plug-in thermostat, allowing independent temperature control for different areas of the living space.
Bedroom
For the bedroom of approximately 13m², the following was installed: 1 x Domus 580W panel The panel was positioned in front of the bed to provide direct, comfortable warmth during the colder months.
Installation
The homeowners installed the infrared heating system themselves using the supplied wall-mounting kit and plug-in setup. The process was straightforward, with no major building work required. The plug-in thermostats made it easy to control each panel separately without complicated wiring.
Outcome
The new infrared heating system provided efficient, even warmth across the living area and bedroom. By reducing the need for air conditioning, the homeowners avoided the dry air that had previously caused discomfort. The result was a healthier, warmer and more comfortable indoor environment. With independent thermostat control, each area can now be heated only when needed, helping to improve comfort while reducing electricity consumption. The simple installation and strong performance exceeded the homeowners’ expectations.
