Effortless Installation for Maximum Comfort

At Royal Infrared Heating®, we prioritize not only efficient heating but also ease of installation. Our Domus Far Infrared Panels are designed to be user-friendly, allowing most customers to complete the installation without the need for a professional electrician. Whether you’re a seasoned DIY enthusiast or a first-time installer, our panels are developed with simplicity and practicality in mind.

Quick and Simple Wall Mounting

Installing a Domus panel requires only four holes to be drilled into the wall. Each unit comes complete with an installation kit, including screws, dowels, and a detailed drilling template, making the process straightforward and stress-free. To assist further, we’ve prepared a step-by-step Installation Guide, which you can view below.

1. Mounting Position

Choose a suitable wall and select vertical or horizontal mounting.

Keep the panel at least 10 cm from nearby walls or objects and approximately 30 cm above the floor. Never install the Domus on a ceiling.

2. Mark, Drill the Holes

Attach the drilling template to the wall and mark the four mounting points.

Use ANLT for the Domus 900W or AEHK for the Domus 580W, then drill each marked hole using a suitable 8 mm bit.

3. Install Wall the Fixings

Insert the supplied wall plugs fully into the four drilled holes.

Fit the screws securely, leaving each screw head approximately 5 mm from the wall so the panel’s mounting brackets can attach safely and remain supported.

4. Hang the Panel

Align the pre-fitted brackets on the back of the panel with the four screw heads.

Carefully place the panel onto the screws and ensure that every mounting point is correctly engaged.

5. Secure the Panel

Slide the panel sideways until the screws move into the locked sections of the mounting brackets.

Check that the panel is level, stable and securely attached before releasing it.

6. Connect the Power

Connect the power cable to a suitable grounded wall socket and use the rear power switch to operate the heater.

When using a plug-in thermostat, connect the heater to the thermostat first, then plug the thermostat into the wall socket.

Hardwired Installation

For a clean, cable-free finish, ask a qualified electrician to hardwire the Domus panel. It can usually be connected to a nearby outlet or junction box without installing a new electrical line.

Installation Support

Royal Infrared Heating® does not provide installation services, but our team can offer guidance and help you find a local electrician.

Remove the Protective Films

Remove all protective films before use:

  • Front: Lift from the small sticker in the top-right corner.

  • Back: Remove the blue protective film.

Wall Mounting Only

Domus can be mounted vertically or horizontally on a wall. Do not install it on a ceiling.

Pre-Fitted Mounting Brackets

The mounting brackets are already attached. No pre-assembly is required; mount the panel securely using the four supplied screws.

Recommended Heater Position

For efficient heating, mount the Domus on the middle or lower section of a wall, facing the area where people spend the most time. A central position helps distribute warmth evenly, although any suitable, unobstructed wall can be used. Maintain the required distance from furniture, curtains and other objects.

Plug-In Connection

The supplied power cable is approximately 1.9 metres long. Connect it to a nearby socket or, if necessary, use a properly rated, grounded extension lead. For plug-in thermostat control, connect the heater to the thermostat and then connect the thermostat to the wall socket. Do not cut, extend or modify the power cable yourself.

Hardwired Connection

For a clean, permanent installation, ask a qualified electrician to connect the heater to a suitable nearby electrical circuit or junction box. When using a mains-powered thermostat, the heater must be connected to the thermostat, which is then connected to the mains supply.

Thermostat Position

Follow the separate installation guide supplied with your thermostat. Position the thermostat in the same room as the heater, where it can measure the general air temperature accurately. Avoid placing it directly in the infrared heat path, beside the panel, near windows, doors, draughts or other heat sources.
